MANAGEMENT TEAM

Greg King, CFA Founder & CEO

Greg King is Founder and CEO of REX Shares. Greg founded REX to democratize investor access to compelling investment strategies. As the creator of several industry innovations including filing a patent for the first “ETN” in 2006 for Barclays, Greg has created and launched over 80 exchange traded funds and notes for Barclays, Credit Suisse, Global X Funds, and previously as Co-founder and CEO of VelocityShares™. Having invested in bitcoin beginning in 2013, in 2016 Greg began to focus REX on delivering blockchain and cryptocurrency-related strategies. He has an MBA from UC Davis and is a CFA Charterholder.

Scott Acheychek, President

Scott has an extensive background in financial product sales. He held senior sales roles at several global financial institutions while covering asset managers, pensions plans, hedge funds, and financial advisors on multi-asset indices, commodity derivatives, and structured products. Scott graduated from Sacred Heart University with a B.S. in Mathematics.

​Kim Mathew, Chief Financial Officer

Kim Mathew is an early investor in REX and joined as CFO in 2018. Kim has spent a 25 year career at major investment banks creating and risk managing financial products, across Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Equity. Kim worked at Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley, and ran desks as a managing director at UBS and Goldman Sachs. Kim has an MBA from Wharton and BS in Geophysics from Yale.

Matt Cody, CFA Senior Vice President

Matt served as Chair of the Asset Allocation Committee and Co-Chair of the Investment Committee at Wetherby Asset Management. He led investment efforts for fixed income and commodities with a focus on portfolio construction for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutions. Matt graduated from the UC Davis with a B.S. in Statistics and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Andre Loukrezis, Research Analyst

Andre joined REX Shares in April 2018. Prior to REX Shares, Andre worked at Fundseeder Technologies LLC and Yakira Capital Management. Andre graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Finance.​

Drew Walsh, Research Associate

Drew joined REX Shares in May 2018. Prior to REX Shares, Drew worked at Renaissance Macro Research. Drew graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in English.​

Rich Goldman, Senior Advisor

Rich founded and is the Managing Member of Becket Capital, a firm that advises and partners with financial services and asset management chief executive officers and executive teams on accelerating business growth and the enhancement of shareholder value. Rich has extensive experience in the investment management business, including serving as Chief Operating Officer of Guggenheim Investments and the Chief Executive Officer of Rydex Investments, Chairman of the Securities Funds’ Board of Trustees, Trustee of the Rydex Investments Funds’ Board of Trustees, and a Trustee of the OSI ETF Trust’s Board of Trustees.

Anthony Pesco, PhD, Senior Advisor​

Tony is an experienced financial services professional with over 25 years of experience in developing and delivering structured Equity and Fixed Income solutions to Institutional and Wealth management clients. From 1999 to 2016 Tony held several senior positions at Credit Suisse including building the market leading Fund Derivatives business from 2003 to 2007 and leading the Global Equity Derivatives business from 2009 to 2016. Tony holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, has held senior positions at Santander, AIG, JP Morgan and started his career as a research scientist at AT&T Bell Laboratories. As an early trader in cryptocurrencies, Tony has been an advocate for broadening access to digital assets through exchange-traded products.

Richard Schaeffer, Senior Advisor

Richard has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has held a variety of positions with New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), including those of Treasurer, Director and Chairman. As NYMEX Chairman from 2006 to 2008, his leadership proved instrumental, increasing the company’s valuation from $900mm to $13B and enjoying one of the most successful IPO’s in U.S. history. Mr. Schaeffer also served as Director of Global Energy Futures at ABN Amro. He has served on the Board of Directors for the University of Maryland’s School of Business, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, The Museum of American Finance, NYMEX Charitable Trust, Magic Jack, and The Montreal Stock Exchange. Mr. Schaeffer is currently the Chairman of the Endowment/Investment Committee for Sacred Heart University.

Todd Phillips, Senior Advisor

Todd is a 25 year Exchange Traded Product (ETP) industry veteran responsible for the development, design and successful execution of three ETP electronic and block trading businesses. Mr. Phillips began his career in 1994 at Spear Leeds and Kellogg and was made Limited Partner of the firm in 1999. From 2000 to 2009, he served as Managing Director and head of ETP floor and electronic trading for Goldman Sachs. In 2009 Mr. Phillips was recruited out of Goldman to join DRW to build an ETP trading platform and the infrastructure needed to support the enterprise. In 2012 Mr. Phillips relocated to Ronin Capital to build and operate the third iteration of his ETP electronic and block trading system.

J. Parsons, Senior Advisor

J. Parsons has been a leader in the exchange traded product industry for more than 15 years. Mr. Parsons most recently served as Head of Sales in the iShares business of Barclays Global Investors (BGI), where he played a key role in accelerating ETF distribution to financial advisors. Prior to this, Mr. Parsons served as Head of Equity and Currency Trading, Index Portfolio Management and Transition Services with BGI.​

Richard Shorten, Senior Advisor

Rich is the Founder and Managing Director of Silvermine Capital Resources, LLC, a firm focused on venture, turnaround and other special situation investment opportunities in the communications, technology and alternative energy sectors. Mr. Shorten has served on many public and private company boards of directors, including for companies listed on each of the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX. Mr. Shorten began his career as a corporate attorney at Cravath, Swaine and Moore, LLP.

Ben Slavin, Senior Advisor

Ben joined REX Shares in April 2018. Prior to REX Shares, Ben was the Global Head of Product & Business of Development at WisdomTree, joining the firm as a start-up. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, which included work on the early development of iShares. After his role at PwC, Ben worked at SEI Investments, where responsibilities included the creation of the ETF distribution platform. Ben also worked at ProFund Advisors, LLC and was responsible for the development of the ProShares leveraged and inverse ETF platform. Ben held a position at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, responsible for product management and development for the open and closed-end fund business. Ben is a graduate of Columbia University.

Shares are bought and sold at market price (not NAV) and are not individually redeemed from the Fund. Brokerage commissions will reduce returns. REX NAVs are calculated using prices as of 4:00 PM Eastern Time. The closing price is the Mid-Point between the Bid and Ask price as of the close of exchange. There is little regulation of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology other than the intrinsic public nature of the blockchain system. Any future regulatory developments could affect the viability and expansion of the use of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology systems may operate across many national boundaries and regulatory jurisdictions; therefore, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology may be subject to widespread and inconsistent regulation.

Currently, there are few public companies where blockchain technology represents an attributable and significant revenue stream. Blockchain technology may never develop optimized transactional processes that lead to increased realized economic returns to any company in which the fund invests.

Generally, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is not a product or service that provides identifiable revenue for companies that implement or otherwise use it. Therefore, the values of the stocks in which the fund will invest may not be a reflection of their connection to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, but may be based on other business operations.

Cryptocurrency Risk. By virtue of the Fund’s investment in stocks that derive revenue from cryptocurrency-related activities, shareholders may be exposed indirectly to the risks of cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies are extremely new and nontraditional assets and a potential shareholder’s ability to evaluate the performance of cryptocurrencies be limited. Digital assets, represented on a decentralized public transaction ledger that is maintained by an open source protocol, are substantively different from traditional assets and investments. Because if the complex nature of cryptocurrency, an investor in the Fund may face numerous material risks that may not be present in other investments. Current IRS guidance indicates that digital assets such as cryptocurrencies should be treated and taxed as property, and that transactions involving the payment of cryptocurrency for goods and services should be treated as barter transactions. This treatment may create a potential tax reporting requirement in any circumstance where the ownership of a cryptocurrency passes from one person to another.

Blockchain Technology Risk. The stocks in which the Fund will invest will be subject to the risks associated with blockchain technology, which is a new and relatively untested technology. The risks associated with blockchain technology may not emerge until the technology is widely used. Blockchain systems could be vulnerable to fraud, particularly if a significant minority of participants colluded to defraud the rest. Access to a given blockchain requires an individualized key, which, if compromised, could result in loss due to theft, destruction or inaccessibility.
